Office Description

The architectural office of Edwin O. Elliott, Jr., AIA was founded in January 1985. At that time our major client was a design build firm that required an Architect to work on site for a number of projects for Four Winds Hospital in Katonah, New York. The construction took place immediately outside the office window. All phases of the project were carried out in this office from preliminary design through construction administration. The foremen had access to the Architect at all times. Through this working relationship Mr. Elliott gained insight into what it takes to put a building together.

The firm has a diversified practice, with projects ranging from an addition and alteration to St. Christopher's Inn homeless shelter in Garrison, New York to alterations to residences. Presently the majority of our work is in the commercial spectrum with a number of residential projects.

Our firm specializes in value design, code compliance, energy conservation, ADA (Americans with Disability Act) compliance, problem solving, and coordination of all consultants to maintain project scheduling. We have experience in taking projects from concept through completion including construction administration.

Our office tailors the services it provides to each client depending on his needs. We welcome diverse projects and enjoy coming up with a solution that meets our clients' requirements. All projects are personally attended to by Mr. Elliott, the firm's principal.

Presently the firm is a one man office. The staff structure relies on consultants that have worked for the firm in the past as employees, as well as the offices that the principal or past employees presently work for. A recent change in the office is working with a CAD consultant via the internet. Drawings and notes are e-mailed back and forth for most of the work with an occasional meeting scheduled. Additional engineering services are contracted on a project by project basis through the use of a variety of consultants we have previous experience with.
